Hotel Description
Guesthouse Fatmir (Gjeto Frani) is the warm public center of the tiny village of Gjelaj. Son Fatimir is a true artist, and built the most amazing café, in which every detail is clever and beautiful, and of course hand-made. The community gathers here, and waits for tourists on route to the Valbona waterfall, so there’s usually someone doing something interesting. Guides stopping off to play cifteli, groups of foreigners passing, or best of all, the local community hanging out. The guesthouse has two simple rooms with 4 single beds each, which were only constructed in 2017. It is truly best so far for camping families interested in getting “off the beaten track.” There’s 4×4 access for sturdy campers, and it’s really nice for families, with lots of interesting things to distract children. The family lives here from April to November. They only speak Albanian.
