Years ago, it was common to find even the most humble of habitations decorated with an edging of hand made lace on every horizontal surface. Window sills, shelves, anything that would stay still long enough to have some lace tacked to it. Lace also edged pillow cases, cotton window curtains . . . . lace, lace and more lace.
Nowadays, a sign of success is of course to be able to buy stuff, probably from china. Sigh.
Nevertheless, at our shop you can still buy acres of hand-crocheted lace. On a good day, you can even find a lady hanging around, waiting to show you how to make it for yourself.
