Although I have to admit I’ve never been offered any, “Lule Agulice” – or the dried flowers of Primula officinalis (the cowslip) – are one of the first plants people here will mention, puffing with pride and certainty, if you ask them about medicinal plants. Taken as tea, it has strong benefits for respiratory disorders (which pretty much everyone here has, after six months spent indoors with leaky woodstoves). Benefits derive from its anti-inflammatory, antimicrobial, antifungal and antioxidant properties. Basically, if your lungs are feeling dickie, drink some Agulice and Bob’s your Anti.
