Hotel Description

Guesthouse Lindi is a dream of another life, set on a beautiful shaded property in the middle of Gjelaj, with nice green lawns, outdoor seating and dozens of beehives.  Intelligent and charming young summer hostess Aurela speaks good English (and some Spanish and Italian), and lives with the family during high season. She can guide you to the pass for Theth (20€) or to the Valbona waterfall (10€), or even better, show you around the old village, telling stories of all the old houses and history (see:  The first 5 years of her life, when in winter they had to build stairs from the snow to leave the house by the second-story windows). Lulash, the pater-familias, is one of the most likeable, kind and intelligent men I’ve met in years.  Family member Denis can give you a taxi into Valbona for 20€. The house has two guestrooms: one with 3 single beds, and another with four single beds each for 20€ a person, including breakfast and dinner. This is one of our Absolutely Favorite Places in the Whole Valley.  These days, the family lives here from April to November.

  • Located a 3km hike from the end of the asphalt in completely unchanged village
  • Aurela is a guide: to waterfall for 10€, to the pass 20€, around the village with stories (personally, I’d give her 30€ for this!)
  • Small cafe
  • Lots of Bee-keeping and honey-making
  • Private transport to Valbona 20€

    "Lovely guesthouse"
    Spent one night at Lindi's in July 2019, in a triple room with my two teenage sons. Fantastic place, well off the beaten track. Big room, comfy beds, quiet at night, extremely friendly and helpful hosts, good homemade food, the most beautiful of settings, close to the trail to Thethi. I warmly recomend this place to anyone! /Lena, 50, Stockholm, Sweden
